The England international set up both of the Reds’ goals in victory over Manchester City yesterday.
With Liverpool’s rejuvenation in 2015 under Brendan Rodgers, Philippe Coutinho has rightly been gaining plaudits for his star performances of late.
However, Raheem Sterling, still only 20, should also be heralded as a real star for the Anfield outfit.
The England international has been asked to play as a central striker this season - a new position that he has taken to with aplomb.
However, despite his six Premier League goals being important in the Merseyside outfit’s progression up the table, his assists are also playing their part.
Although Coutinho and Jordan Henderson scored Liverpool’s goals from range yesterday, Sterling was the man to provide the assist.

This takes the English star to seven Premier League assists for the campaign, in a significant increase on past seasons.
Henderson is seemingly making the most of Sterling’s unselfish nature, with all three of the midfielder’s goals this season being assisted by the sprightly attacker.

With Coutinho and Adam Lallana playing well in attacking midfield roles and Daniel Sturridge returning to health after injury concerns, getting the best from Sterling and finding a system and line-up that suits him will be key in the Reds securing a top-four finish this season.
