Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy was understandably looking delighted ahead of the League Cup final yesterday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team battled their way into the final against Chelsea, as they continue to enjoy a decent season.
However, his expression changed with Spurs failing to cash in after a good start to the final before goals from John Terry and Diego Costa saw the Blues secure the first piece of available silverware this season.
There is still time and opportunity for Levy’s expression to return to that of before the game yesterday, because the team are well placed in the race for a top four space.
Tottenham are currently six points away from Manchester United, but can cut that gap if they win their game in hand.
The Champions League is vital for the progression and development of Tottenham as a club and for the squad.
The club would benefit from increased exposure both on and off the field while the squad would improve with a higher calibre group of potential signings.
Tottenham have an opportunity to get over the defeat quickly against Swansea this week.
