Liverpool haven't lost a league game since a certain figure showed up at Anfield just before Christmas.

Liverpool were superb against Manchester City over the weekend with two stunning goals from Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho making the difference against the Premier League champions.

The result lengthened Liverpool’s unbeaten run, which has been ongoing since a certain biblical figure appeared at Anfield just before Christmas.

Whether divine intervention has come over Liverpool or whether Brendan Rodgers has just found a way to turnaround performances, there’s little doubt that the Reds are moving in the right direction.

Liverpool are well placed for an assault on the top four in the Premier League, just two points behind Manchester United who are currently in fourth place.

The boss has found a system, which seems to be getting the most out of the current crop of players and if Liverpool can maintain that over the rest of the season, they stand a great chance of getting back into the Champions League for next season.

Next up for Liverpool is a home game against Burnley in the Premier League this Wednesday, as the side looks to back up the victory against City.
