The Costa Rica star battle Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored Madrid's goal in the 1-1 draw, with Gerard Moreno netting for the visitors.
Campbell played all 90 minutes on the right wing, working hard even if unable to influence the game from an attacking perspective.
He had only one shot on goal, which was off target, and completed only 61 per cent of his passes and not creating any chances. Campbell did though win three tackles, more than any other Villareal midfielder, and made one interception.
The draw was just the second time Campbell has played 90 minutes since signing on loan with Villareal, and is a big vote of confidence in him although he is still searching for his first goal.
It's not the first time he has come up against Ronaldo either - here's a picture of a much younger Campbell facing the Real Madrid star with Real Betis in 2013.
