Manchester City media round-up: Pellegrini picks out City's current main weakness

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.

Manuel Pellegrini has been quoted by the Daily Express picking out what he feels is the key problem for his team at the moment.

Manchester City have suffered back-to-back defeats after a 2-1 loss at Liverpool yesterday, which left the boss criticising a certain aspect of their performance.

“There were a lot of problems - We cannot lose so many balls with the technical players we have,” said the boss.

City move on and face Leicester City at home in the league this coming Wednesday.

Pellegrini has vowed that his side won’t give up in the Premier League title race, as reported by the Daily Star.

If Chelsea now win their game in hand over City, they will be eight points clear at the top of the table.

They could afford to lose two games and they would still be ahead if City win all of their fixtures in the meantime.

“I think we never give up about the title – You never know in football what will happen,” said the Chilean.

The Daily Express has suggested that Pep Guardiola could be the man City turn to if they choose to relieve Pellegrini of his duties.

The Spanish coach has enjoyed great success with Bayern Munich after a successful spell at Spanish giants Barcelona.

However, tempting him away from the German club is likely to be extremely difficult.
