Barcelona-owned midfielder Song has been struggling for form in recent weeks, and he failed to rise to the occasion in the London derby at the Boleyn Ground.
West Ham lost the Premier League clash 3-1, leading Redknapp to highlight the disappointing performance of the former Arsenal star for the hosts.
“They didn’t play well today,” the 41-year-old told Sky Sports on Saturday. “And I have got to honest: a few of his players let him (manager Sam Allardyce) let him down today.
“Alex Song was really poor in midfield. He has been so good this year, but he was a major disappointment for them.”
Song was indeed disappointing for Sam Allardyce’s side. In fact, the 27-year-old was often a liability, getting caught in possession and giving the ball away when not under pressure.

The Opta Stats table (above) aptly demonstrate just how bad Song was against Palace, and he needs to step up his game.
Song’s dip in form has coincided with West Ham’s struggles for points, and manager Allardyce has to push the Cameroon international midfielder to play better.
The former Bastia star is currently on loan at West Ham from Barcelona. If Song wants to secure a permanent move to the Hammers, then he needs to improve in the final three months of the season.
