Are the stars aligning for a first Arsenal appearance for new signing Krystian Bielik?
The Polish teenager signed in the winter transfer window, but is yet to figure for the first team. He featured for the weekend for the under-18s against Norwich, a game they lost 3-1, with Arsene Wenger watching on.
That result may suggest the Pole is not ready, yet with injuries striking the first team, could this Wednesday be his best bet this season to make the first team bench and even get some minutes?
Arsenal are suffering with injuries in midfield. Francis Coquelin has broken his nose and could still feature, but Jack Wilshere has undergone ankle surgery again this week, and Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini remain absent through injury.
The Mail report Aaron Ramsey could be in line for a most welcome comeback, but Bielik could still be needed as cover for the Welshman.
Wilshere and Flamini are expected this month, report PremierInjuries.com, with Arteta a month later. When they return to the squad, Bielik's chances of progression this early on diminish.
That makes this week one of the best chances he has yet to potentially feature, if Arsene Wenger liked what he saw of him in action at the weekend, and in first team training so far.
Opponent and fixtures
Arsenal cannot afford to get over confident, but in weighing up their various returnees, they have to factor in next Monday's FA Cup clash with Manchester United. Make the wrong move with either Ramsey or Coquelin and either could suffer a setback to rule them out of the important clash at Old Trafford.
The Gunners are strong and should ideally have enough to beat QPR even if they play Bielik for 45 minutes or more as cover, in order to hold back their not fully fit or match fit stars for next week.
