Eric Dier’s tweet sums up mood in Tottenham Hotspur camp following League Cup final defeat to Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the final of the League Cup at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur may have failed to win the League Cup final, but it has not dented their hopes and ambition for the season and beyound.

The North London outfit suffered a 2-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Chelsea at Wembley Stadium to squander a good chance of winning their first major trophy since 2008.

Spurs gave a good account of themselves in Sunday's final and were arguably the better side in the opening 15 minutes, but Jose Mourinho’s team eventually proved to be too much for them.

However, the Tottenham players seem to be upbeat despite the loss, as defender Eric Dier’s tweet this morning nicely sums up the mood in the camp.

Dier’s tweet suggests that the Tottenham players are not deflated by their failure to win the League Cup and are determined for more success in the future.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has a young squad at his disposal, and given the progress the players have made under him this campaign, there is every reason to believe that they will reach major finals in the coming years.

Tottenham are in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, and their focus will now be on achieving that objective.
