Darren Bent’s message to Derby County fans

Aston Villa-owned Derby County striker Darren Bent is reportedly facing a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Derby County striker Darren Bent has expressed his disappointment at his injury on social media.

The Aston Villa-owned star will miss three to four weeks with a hamstring problem, according to The Derby Telegraph.

The 31-year-old picked up the injury during the Rams’ 2-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Championship on Saturday.

Bent failed to finish the game and limped off in the 64th minute, with scans later revealing a small tear in the hamstring.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker, who joined Derby on loan from Villa in the January transfer, is understandably disappointed with the news.

However, Bent has assured the Derby fans that he will do all he can to recover quickly, taking to Twitter and Instagram to send out his message.

Big blow

Bent’s injury will come as a big blow to Derby, who are currently two points clear at the top of the Championship table and are gunning for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The striker has scored five goals and created as many chances in eight Championship appearances for Derby, while having a pass accuracy of 69% and a shot accuracy of 58%.
