Chelsea media round-up: Mourinho and Terry react to League Cup success

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been quoted by FourFourTwo describing the League Cup final win as ‘beautiful’.

The Blues ran out 2-0 winners against Tottenham yesterday to secure their first piece of silverware this season.

“Today we couldn't play without [the suspended Nemanja] Matic so we had to find solutions. It is beautiful to win again,” he said.

Chelsea now have the Premier League and Champions League to focus on over the rest of the season.

John Terry has told FourFourTwo he feels the club’s success yesterday could kick start something special over the rest of the season.

Terry bagged the side’s first goal in the final against Spurs and was emotional at the final whistle after the win.

“It's massive. That could be the start of something very good but now we need to kick on and we've got the league to focus on,” said the skipper.

Chelsea travel to West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Thierry Henry has been quoted by FourFourTwo suggesting that the Blues can win the treble this season.

Henry was impressed by the way Chelsea secured a win against Spurs yesterday to set themselves up for an impressive season.

“I think they can. They have all of the quality required to win the treble,” said the Frenchman.

Chelsea top the league and are well placed ahead of their Champions League last 16 second leg against PSG.
