Blackstone Group CEO Stephen Schwarzman and real estate head Jon Gray took home the firm’s biggest payouts in 2014 as the firm earned record profits.
Bloomberg News reports that Schwarzman, 68, received $656m in dividends and pay, according to Blackstone’s annual report filed Friday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Gray, 45, got $205m. Leon Black, who runs Apollo Global Management LLC, took home $268m in distributions in 2014.
Private equity executives are among the wealthiest Americans, with Schwarzman ranking 39th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Top leveraged-buyout managers get the majority of their income from dividends on their ownership in the firms. Salaries top out at a few hundred thousand dollars a year.
