The veteran defender has improved the Forest defence since coming back into the side.
19 goals, five wins, one draw - not bad for your first six games in charge of a new team, especially when your initial appointment raised eyebrows.
But that is what Dougie Freedman has achieved since he took over from Stuart Pearce in the dugout at The City Ground.
Forest are now being discussed as a potential late contender for the play-offs and if they carry on their excellent current form they will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.
Yesterday there were plenty of top performances for Forest. Ben Osborn was typically awesome. Matt Fryatt played the striker role well. Jamaal Lascelles continued his upturn in form and even the much maligned Danny Fox bagged two assists.
But once again, Danny Collins impressed in what has been a real change in form from the experienced defender.
Collins had not featured for the club all season under Stuart Pearce, but was brought back into the fold by Freedman from the get-go - he even scored in his first game back against Brighton.
He has added experience and influence to the back line, with his presence clearly helping the talented but often naive Lascelles play his best football at the back.
He has since played in the last six games and Forest fans are clearly impressed with the form of the 34-year-old.
Here is some of the best reaction from Nottingham Forest fans on Twitter after another solid performance from Collins.
Goals aside, defense has been playing out its skin recently. Collins, Lascelles, Lichaj all outstanding. #nffc— Oliver (@OliverSmith92) March 1, 2015
Can't believe how quickly things have turned round for Forest, have to say Collins has made a difference too keep it going!! #nffc #— Lewis Cutts (@LewisCutts_) February 28, 2015
I never thought a defence of Lascelles and Collins would be part of three successive victories! #nffc— Hannah Dexter (@hannahforest) February 28, 2015
#nffc are flying! Danny Collins deserves enormous credit. Always been a critic but he's come and clearly leading the defence very well.— Wayne Smith (@waynosmith) February 28, 2015
