Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has been singing the praises of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud on BT Sport.
The 28-year-old scored the opening goal in the 39th minute and had a good all-round game in the 2-0 victory for Arsenal, as shown in the Opta Stats table below.

Owen was co-commentating on the match for BT Sport and was impressed with what he saw of Giroud.
“Today he never shirked,” said the 35-year-old after the game on Sunday. “Some of the lesser strikers would think about going missing a little bit. He was always involved.
“He makes bad balls into good balls. He can be that link player, he sets up chances, he gets in the box, he gets into the good areas. He is a good finisher with both feet and his head. I am really impressed.”
Giroud has struggled with injuries this season, but he has started to perform in recent weeks.
The former Montpellier star was disappointing against AS Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday, missing a number of good chances.
The Frenchman had six shots against the Ligue 1 outfit in the first leg of the last-16 tie at the Emirates Stadium, but none of them were on target.
However, Giroud bounced back against Everton, and Arsenal fans will hope that he builds on his performance on Sunday.
