Leeds players react on Twitter to Watford defeat; featuring Cooper and Sharp

Leeds United players took to Twitter after their 3-2 home defeat to Watford.

Leeds United couldn't avoid a second straight defeat on Saturday, but will be disappointed with the manner in which they lost to Watford.

Early goals from Billy Sharp and Rudolph Austin put Leeds 2-0 up inside the opening 20 minutes in what looked like being a superb afternoon for Neil Redfearn's men.

However, Watford are challenging for promotion - and demonstrated their quality with a stunning comeback, orchestrated by strikers Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra.

Deeney raced clear of the Leeds defence to pull one back for Watford just before half time, before Vydra equalised in the second half.

Vydra then won the game late on, pouncing on a pondering Sol Bamba to snatch the winning goal and give Slavisa Jokanovic's men a vital three points.

Elland Road was naturally stunned and disappointed to see their side throw away a 2-0 lead, and players took to Twitter after the game to reflect on the performance.

Defender Liam Cooper apologised to fans and promised better in coming weeks, whilst youngster Lewis Walters was delighted to have made the bench.

Striker Sharp, who hit the opening goal, celebrated his 150th career goal - but was unhappy to have done it in such circumstances.
