Jamie Carragher slams Nacer Chadli on Twitter as Alan Sugar rages

Chadli and Vlaar

The Tottenham Hotspur star gave away the free-kick that led to Chelsea's first goal in the Capital One Cup final.

Jamie Carragher was very critical of Nacer Chadli on Sunday afternoon after the 25-year-old Spurs star gave away the free-kick that led to Chelsea's opener at Wembley.

Chadli brought Branislav Ivanovic down in the first half against the Blues, with Willian duly producing a solid delivery from the resulting free-kick for John Terry to fire home after some further confusion in the Tottenham defence.

And Carragher feels Chadli was too concerned with his man to simply jump for a header, branding the free-kick a 'stupid' one to concede.

Naturally, Carragher wasn't the only one to criticise the Tottenham man - and former Spurs chairman (and supporter) Alan Sugar fumed after the first goal went in.

Terry's opener changed the momentum at Wembley, with the north London side starting stronger than Chelsea.

And Lord Sugar agreed with Carragher that the goal was a needless one for Tottenham to concede.

Diego Costa's shot (deflected in by Kyle Walker) doubled Chelsea's lead after half-time and, despite their first-half progress, Tottenham were denied the opportunity to repeat their heroics of 2008 against their London rivals.

Spurs missed out to Jose Mourinho's men, then, but only thanks to a couple of key mistakes...
