Ibe, Henderson and more: Liverpool stars react on Twitter to 2-1 victory

Liverpool defeated Manchester City 2-1 this weekend and some of their players were quick to celebrate on social media.

Liverpool continued their impressive form since the turn of the year with a 2-1 victory against Manchester City this weekend.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side would have arrived at Anfield hoping to cut the gap on league leaders Chelsea to two points, but instead they left having been beaten by a Reds side that could still do great things this season.

Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho scored Liverpool’s goals, both fine strikes that suggest Daniel Sturridge no longer has the burden of scoring the majority of his side’s goals.

Both players have excelled this season, the Brazilian in particular in recent weeks, and the duo were praised by some of their teammates on Twitter after the match.

Sturridge kept it short and sweet, writing, “Get in there boys! Roll on Wednesday.”

That is when Liverpool come up against Burnley as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to climb into the top four at the expense of Manchester United.

Jordon Ibe and Jose Enrique also expressed their delight following the result, while Henderson directed the attention away from himself, writing, “Another unbelievable goal from Coutinho".
