Herrera and Young react on Twitter to Manchester United's 2-0 victory

Old Trafford

Two of Manchester United's players took to social media after their win against Sunderland.

Manchester United had Wayne Rooney – and some wonderful movement from Radamel Falcao – to thank for their 2-0 win against Sunderland this weekend.

Louis van Gaal’s side were toiling against the Black Cats until Falcao turned in the box only to be brought down by John O’Shea.

United were subsequently awarded a penalty, Wes Brown was sent off in a baffling case of mistaken identity and Rooney set his side on the way to a much-needed win.

Having lost to Swansea City last time out, United could not afford to drop more points and they will have been pleased to climb back up to third and see Southampton lose on the same day.

Those results mean United have a little extra breathing space in the race for a top-four finish, and after the match two of the club’s players expressed their feelings on social media.

Ander Herrera, who looks to be a regular starter for United now, hailed it as a “crucial win” and said his side “must keep on fighting,” while Young looked ahead to the match against Newcastle United.
