Coutinho hit the match winner against Manchester City this afternoon.
Once again the hero for Liverpool was Brazilian midfielder Phillipe Coutinho.
The playmaker was magnificent in his creative role, as he has been for many a week now. Not only did he play brilliantly, he also got the winner. It was certainly one hell of a winning strike.
He plucked the ball down outside the box, shifted it onto his better right foot and smashed home an incredible strike, curling and swerving, into the back of Joe Hart's net.
It is the latest in a recent run of important goals and performances from the player, including strikes against Bolton in the FA Cup and against Southampton.
One former Tottenham Hotspur talent has certainly been impressed with his performances. John Bostock made his professional debut aged just 15 whilst at Crystal Palace and soon became the most wanted youngster in Europe.
Spurs ended up getting a hold of him, but he never hit the heights many expected of him. Bostock struggled to breakthrough at Spurs. Loan spells with Hull City, Swindon Town and Toronto FC were all vaguely successful or unsuccessful and he left Tottenham in 2013.
Now he is playing for Belgian second tier side OH Leuven, but was clearly enjoying the game this afternoon.
He was especially impressed with Coutinho, whom he dubbed the best player in the Premier League.
#Coutinho is the best player in the prem! Yea I said it !— John Bostock (@JohnJBostock) March 1, 2015
On his day #Countinho is unplayable. He breaks through midfield with pace, creates ample chances, shoots from distance & embarrasses defenders— John Bostock (@JohnJBostock) March 1, 2015
The Brazilian has always shown bags of talent but he is now starting to perform on a weekly basis. He might not be the best in the league just yet, but you would be hard pushed to name many players better.
