Derby County fans’ mixed reaction to defeat to Fulham in Championship

Derby County went down 2-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage in London in the Championship on Saturday.

Derby County suffered a shock defeat on Saturday when they went down 2-0 to Fulham away from home in the Championship.

The Rams were favourites to win and headed into the clash at Craven Cottage on the back of a 2-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at the iPro Stadium.

However, Steve McClaren’s side had to eat humble pie in London, as they conceded twice to the Cottagers to drop all three points.

Nikolay Bodurov put Fulham in front just past the half-hour mark when he shot home from a tight angle.

Then, on the stroke of half time, Cauley Woodrow headed in Ross McCormack’s delivery to wrap up the points for Fulham.

Derby, though, remain top of the Championship table despite the defeat. The Rams are currently two points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough with 65 points from 34 matches.

However, many Derby fans were not pleased with the performance of the team against Fulham.

Defensively the Rams were poor once again, and this is something that needs to be sorted in the coming weeks.

Many Derby supporters, though, remain confident of automatic promotion to the Premier League despite Saturday’s defeat.
