Arsenal climbed back ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League with a 2-0 win against Everton on Sunday.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring six minutes before the interval and Tomas Rosicky ended the match as a contest with a late second.
Arsenal were looking to recover after defeat in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie with Monaco last week, and they did so in effective fashion.
Everton actually had more of the ball on the day – something that is rarely said when Arsenal turn out at the Emirates Stadium – but they managed just two shots on target and the hosts ultimately ran out comfortable winners.
The German international posted a picture of him and teammate Rosicky in the Arsenal dressing room, along with the message: “A hard-fought victory. It was even more important looking at the standings now.”
Ramsey acknowledged the fact that he could now celebrate St David’s Day with another three points for his side.
Arsenal now turn their attention to a midweek match against Queens Park Rangers, with the race for a top-four place as tight as ever.
