Nottingham Forest have continued their recent run of great form with a 3-0 victory over Reading away from home in the Championship this afternoon.
After a goalless first half at the Madjeski Stadium, the Reds went ahead in the 56th minute when Ben Osborn fired home with his left foot from outside the Reading penalty box after being teed up by Daniel Fox.
Matty Fryatt doubled Forest’s advantage in the 70th minute, turning in a pass from Michail Antonio from inside the home team’s penalty box, following a jinking run, with his left foot.
Gary Gardner wrapped up the three points 10 minutes from time when he picked up Fox’s ball and fired home spectacularly from outside the Reading area.
The win at Reading was Forest’s third in a row in the Championship and saw Dougie Freedman maintain his unbeaten start as the Forest manager.
Forest were struggling last month, but the Nottingham-based outfit could now be in contention for a playoff spot in the Championship this season.
The result means that Forest are currently ninth in the league table with 50 points from 34 matches, nine points behind sixth-placed Norwich City.
