Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been looking ahead to Sunday’s League Cup final against Chelsea in an interview with the club’s official website.
The two sides go head-to-head at Wembley in the first showpiece event of the season and while Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League, Tottenham will take great confidence from the last time the two sides met.
On that occasion Tottenham won 5-3 and Chelsea’s defence was battered from pillar to post, so how does Kane feel as he prepares for the vital showdown?
“It gives me goose-bumps just thinking about it,” Kane said. “It will be an incredible atmosphere and hopefully we’ll bring the trophy home. I can’t wait.”
Tottenham have come a long way under Mauricio Pochettino, their young players finding another level with not just Kane impressing this season.
Christian Eriksen, Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason and Eric Dier have also caught the eye and there could be any one of a number of heroes for Tottenham on Sunday.
Having lost in the Europa League last week, Tottenham will not want to see another chance for silverware snatched from them this weekend, but it will take everything they have to overcome Jose Mourinho’s side.
If they can do that, it may just be the making of the next great Spurs side.
