Tottenham star Nacer Chadli says club have 'missed' Sandro since summer departure

The Brazilian joined QPR in the summer and took some of the fun with him.

Tottenham Hotspur take on Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final this Sunday and in preparation for the game, Sky Sports' Soccer AM programme spoke to Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli.

The interview, aired on Saturday the 28th of February, was conducted by infamous Soccer AM interviewer Tubes - a Chelsea fan.

So obviously the League Cup final was the main topic of discussion, but they also moved on to other issues - including the departure of midfielder Sandro in the summer.

The Brazilian was well known for his madcap antics off the field and for being one of the more popular members of the Spurs dressing room. So Tubes was asking about how Tottenham have coped without their resident joker. Chadli had this to say:

"Yeah we had Sandro, he was the biggest joker I have ever met in a football team.

"He is a very good guy. I appreciate him a lot, we have missed him."

Sandro fell out of favour at Tottenham with former boss Tim Sherwood. In the end he decided to move on, joining former boss Harry Redknapp at QPR for what has been an injury ravaged spell so far.

The former Brazilian international has played just eight games for the club since his summer move and has not featured since November.

Chadli did go on to suggest who had replaced Sandro as the joker in the team, a player whose time at Tottenham has been equally as disappointing as Sandro's at Loftus Road:

"Now the big joker I think is Etienne Capoue. He's a big joker, he's laughing all the time and likes to make jokes.

"Yeah we are quite a team of jokers really we like to make jokes with each other, that is good for the spirit."

At least the French midfielder is contributing something to the team. He played just 685 minutes last season because of a knee injury and has not been a regular this term.
