Line Up - Spurs v Chelsea

A look back at the last time Tottenham Hotspur met Chelsea in the League Cup final.

Things were a little different the last time Tottenham played Chelsea in a League Cup final.

Not only was the actual tournament itself sponsored by Carling as opposed to Capital One, both sides had different managers and very different squads.

Chelsea, led by Avram Grant, boasted the likes of Frank Lampard and Nicolas Anelka, although several notable stars remain - including Petr Cech, John Terry and Didier Drogba.

But, for Tottenham, the likes of Pascal Chimbonda, Jermaine Jenas, Dimitar Berbatov, Steed Malbranque, Robbie Keane and more took to the field of play - and beat the Blues.

For context, Chimbonda is now a 36-year-old Ligue 2 player and has enjoyed spells at Carlisle United as well as Market Drayton Town in recent years. Malbranque, meanwhile, is back at Lyon at the age of 35.

It certainly makes you think, however, that that Spurs side - managed by the now infamous Juande Ramos - could beat Chelsea, who were also Champions League finalists in 2008.

The west London side are now back under the stewardship of a specialist at winning the League Cup, although Jose Mourinho has been beaten by Tottenham already this term...
