The Portuguese midfielder is currently on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Liverpool have showcased an ability to bring through some top youngsters in recent years. The likes of Raheem Sterling, John Flanagan and Jordon Ibe have all broken into the first-team at Anfield over the past 18 months.
Of course it is not that simple for all their talented young players and some have had to move out on loan in order to gain regular first-team football. One such player is Portuguese youngster Joao Teixeira.
The 22-year-old joined Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2012 and is regarded as one of their top talents. He previously had a spell on loan at Brentford but has spent this season at Brighton and Hove Albion.
He has recently proven himself to be a great prospect, scoring six goals in all competitions, including a stunning brace in a recent 4-3 triumph over Birmingham City.
This weekend Brighton take on Bolton Wanderers, so Teixeira is back in the North West. While there it seems a current Liverpool first-teamer decided to pay him a visit.
Spanish full-back Jose Enrique, who has just returned to first-team training after a knee injury, posted this photo and message on his Twitter account late last night:
Happy to meet my friend#joao.Good luck for you tomorrow I hope you get another2goals and man of the match my friend:) pic.twitter.com/QQQofLwt0T— José enrique (@Jesanchez3) February 28, 2015
It seems the Liverpool players, just as much as the fans, want to see this young man turn his talent into results and hopefully, one day, become a Liverpool first-team regular.
