Last weekend, Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini seemed like public enemy number one on Twitter.
Many backed their captain, while some were disappointed with his performance against Manchester City as they felt he is usually a role model.
As Newcastle were thrashed 5-0 by the Premier League champions, though, many supporters took the opportunity to slam Coloccini on social media, criticising his general ability - or lack thereof.
A week later, however, and it is a completely different story. That doesn't suggest Newcastle fans are fickle - but it does represent how different the 33-year-old looked against Aston Villa.
As the Magpies beat Tim Sherwood's Villa side 1-0 at St James' Park, Coloccini was many supporters' man of the match, making vital interceptions, tackles and clearances.
Where the Argentine struggled desperately versus Manchester City, he absolutely excelled against Aston Villa.
Another positive for Newcastle, then, on a day when John Carver earned only his second win as manager of the Tyneside outfit, while Jonas Gutierrez also returned to the substitutes' bench for the first time since receiving treatment for testicular cancer.
The Magpies know they will have to be much better against tougher opposition, however, as a poor Aston Villa side are no yardstick to measure performances against. With Coloccini in such form, though, the end of Newcastle's season will certainly look much brighter. Here's how fans saw his display on Saturday...
Coloccini my MOTM, but I would understand votes for Cisse or Janmaat. Riviere played well and Krul made some important saves, too. #NUFC— Daul Dogba (@chocolatbear44) February 28, 2015
Captain Colo played outstanding today, MOTM for me by a mile! #NUFC— Binster9 (@binster9) February 28, 2015
My MOTM - Fabricio Coloccini. Played like a captain should today vs Aston Villa. Good defensive interceptions & blocks. Much improved #NUFC— Mark Ooi (@MarkOoiZW) February 28, 2015
Important three points for Newcastle but the performance was dreadful again. Cannot keep hold of the ball. Coloccini was excellent. #NUFC— Ciaran Neary (@CiaranNeary) February 28, 2015
Coloccini was easily man of the match today. The bloke was unusually immense. #NUFC— Cal (@madeupst0ries) February 28, 2015
Coloccini was back to his best today, Abeid looked at bit off the pace but needs more game time. Great to see Raylor come on, good win #nufc— Tom Bell-Green (@tombellgreen) February 28, 2015
Coloccini man of the match, after being so poor last week he was a rock for us today #nufc— Joel Blakey (@JoelBlakey) February 28, 2015
