Leeds United round-up: Early team news; Ajose on first result he checks

Leeds United 2

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Leeds United…

Leeds United take on Watford at Elland Road this weekend, with Neil Redfearn’s side eager to put their defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion behind them.

Leeds are currently 14th in the Championship while Watford are pushing hard for promotion, sixth in the table and just four points behind the top two.

In early team news, the BBC reports that Leeds could play Sam Byram and Steve Morison after the duo recovered from knee and groin injuries respectively.

Casper Sloth is also said to be hopeful of retaining his place although the report claims Redfearn is likely to change things up following last week’s defeat.

In other news, Leeds loanee Nicky Ajose has been speaking to the Swindon Advertiser about the first match he checks when he has finished his duties for Crewe Alexandra.

It is not Leeds, as one may expect, but Swindon Town, where Ajose spent a brief spell, making 21 appearances and scoring 10 goals.

The 23-year-old said, “For me it’s the first result I check every week and I am constantly on at the boys…saying I want them to go up because it is a team that I have fond memories of.”

Ajose has scored eight goals in 14 appearances for Crewe but it remains to be seen if he has a future at Leeds.
