The Italian believes that Chelsea will get the better of Tottenham this weekend.
Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday. The two teams have met twice this season, on both occasions one thrashing the other. Chelsea won 3-0 at Stamford Bridge and Tottenham Hotspur beat Chelsea 5-3 at White Hart Lane - so goals are surely in the offing at Wembley.
One man who has dual interests ahead of the game will be Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini. The now retired 41-year-old spent ten years at Chelsea and three years at Spurs in his playing days, before finishing off his professional career at LA Galaxy.
He has spoken to the official Chelsea website about the game this Sunday, leaving no doubt as to where his allegiances lie:
"I think it's going to be a good final, especially because a lot of the recent matches have had plenty of goals.
"I think the biggest difference is the experience. Chelsea only changed two or three players from last season because it was already a very well-structured team – and now it's even better.
"Tottenham changed a lot of players in the last two or three years and they are struggling to find the right balance, but the current manager is doing a very good job after not the best start and they seem to be doing a lot better.
"Chelsea have quite an experienced squad in terms of how much they've won, and I truly believe they are favourites."
Of course Cudicini is always going to be more allied to Chelsea. He played there for a lot longer than his time at Spurs and was also a much more regular first-teamer in his time at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are certainly the favourites for the game, as they top the Premier League and have the ultimate matchplay manager in Jose Mourinho.
But Tottenham have toppled Chelsea once this season and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to do the business on them once again.
