A former Tottenham Hotspur stopper has been speaking about the current holder of the gloves.
Both sides have a considerable amount of top talent to choose from, but Jennings believes there is one Tottenham player who should be among the first names on the team-sheets, even if he is yet to feature in the competition this year.
“Well it is up to the manager, that’s what he gets paid for, but obviously you want to play your best team and there is no doubt Hugo (Lloris) has been absolutely outstanding for us this year," Jennings said.
Michel Vorm has been Tottenham’s domestic cup goalkeeper this season but manager Mauricio Pochettino has a big decision to make ahead of an encounter that could define more than just Spurs’ current campaign.
Lloris has been superb in many of his 34 appearances for Tottenham this season and Jennings clearly rates him very highly.
“The saves that Hugo have made throughout the year have been unbelievable,” he added.
And when you consider the attacking talent at Chelsea’s disposal, another such save could win the game for a Tottenham side who have promised much but will not want to experience cup woe twice in a week following their Europa League elimination.
But whoever turns out for Tottenham on Sunday, expect them to give their all…
