Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna has been speaking to the club’s official website about the Blues’ upcoming match against Liverpool.
The two sides clash at Anfield on Sunday in a huge encounter at the top of the Premier League.
City are currently second in the table, five points behind league leaders Chelsea who are in League Cup final action this weekend.
Liverpool are sixth, just three points outside the top four, meaning the importance of this clash between the Reds and City cannot be understated.
Whichever side wins will get a huge boost heading into the final two months of the season but such is the importance of the encounter that a draw may be the most likely result.
Speaking ahead of the clash, City defender Sagna said of Liverpool, “Their home form hasn’t been as good as it was last season, but that means nothing for this game.
“They’ve been in good form lately and, as I say, we’ll need to be at our best.”
Liverpool have enjoyed a wonderful start to 2015, and despite their penalty shoot-out defeat to Besiktas in the Europa League there is every chance Brendan Rodgers’ side can overcome Manuel Pellegrini’s, especially with the Anfield crowd roaring them on.
