Newcastle United supporters do not seem at all bothered by the fact that Cheick Tiote has been ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury.
John Carver confirmed on Thursday that the Ivorian enforcer would be sidelined until the 2015/16 campaign after undergoing knee surgery.
Tiote picked up the problem while playing at the Africa Cup of Nations and it means that Carver has limited selection choices available to him in the centre of the pitch.
This does not appear to be too much of a concern for Magpies fans, though, as they feel that Tiote has not been up to scratch in recent seasons.
The 28-year-old was once a key player at St. James' Park, but he has struggled to reach his top level of late and his deterioration has been reflected in the reaction of Magpies supporters to the news today.
Tiote may never play for Newcastle again, with the Daily Mail suggesting that he could move on in the summer, and it seems that most supporters of the club won't be too disappointed to see him leave.
Here is the best reaction from Newcastle fans to Tiote's injury on social media site Twitter.
Tiote being out for the rest of the season is the best news ever, the lads about as useful as a chocolate radiator #nufc— callum (@Callum_Clayton) February 27, 2015
So Tiote is out for the season, it's time for Anita and especially Abeid to step up and prove they can do it! #nufc— Leigh Carter (@leighsamagpie) February 27, 2015
Apparently Tiote has played his last game for #nufc. Here's hoping. Should have sold the idiot years ago.— James Harrison (@mrbeast06) February 27, 2015
Can't say I'll be too gutted if Tiote never plays again for #NUFC. He's been poor for two years. Time to move on. ..— AboutTheToon (@aboutthetoon) February 27, 2015
Taylor, Dummett, Tiote, Cabella, DeJong, Aarons all injured. Think we'd lose alot of games even if we had a competent manager. #NUFC— X L I X (@LukeTansley2) February 26, 2015
