Michael Owen predicts West Ham United v Crystal Palace

West Ham

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen looks ahead to Saturday’s Premier League clash between West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that West Ham United will win against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker believes that the Hammers will have too much for their London rivals at Boleyn Ground.

“The Hammers have only won one of their last nine PL games but they were, arguably, unlucky not to take all three points at Spurs last weekend,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia looked back to their best at the Lane and were a real handful for the Spurs defence; they might be the difference between the sides.”

Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?

West Ham have not been in great form in recent weeks, but they will be favourites to win against Palace.

The Hammers have the better team, and playing at home will also give them an advantage.

However, Palace have shown strong signs of improvement under manager Alan Pardew and will not be scared to go out for a win at the Boleyn Ground.

The Eagles can certainly take a point off West Ham, but perhaps a victory for them in the London derby will be a bit too much to ask.

Importance of Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia

As Owen points out, both Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia will be important for West Ham against Palace.

Senegal international striker Sakho has scored nine goals and created 15 chances in 17 Premier League appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 57% and a shot accuracy of 43%.

Meanwhile, Ecuador international forward Valencia has scored three goals and created 10 chances in 23 Premier League appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 74% and a shot accuracy of 44%.
