Despite very different results in European competition this week, Paul Merson believes Arsenal will easily beat Everton this weekend.
The two sides meet at The Emirates on Sunday in a 2.05pm kick-off, and it is Arsenal who have a big point to prove after losing 3-1 at home to Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Everton beat Young Boys by the same scoreline at Goodison Park the following evening in the Europa League.
Merson told SkySports in his weekly predictions column: "Arsenal will win this match quite easily. Everton are struggling quite badly at the moment and only got out of jail last week with a last-minute goal at home to Leicester.
"It is Arsenal all over really, they will get back to normal and then their disastrous Wednesday against Monaco will all be forgotten about. So I do not see anything other than a 3-0 Arsenal win here."
The last time the two sides met at the stadium, Roberto Martinez's Everton held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw. Earlier this season the teams drew 2-2 at Goodison Park with the Gunners staging a late fightback.
Everton's league form has been concerning however since that late-August clash, with the Toffees sitting in 12th position. Last season they were battling for European contention, yet this time around only winning the Europa League seems like providing an entry route into the Champions League next season.
They have won just one of their last six games, but also only lost one, drawing four, while Arsenal have won five and lost one of their previous six.
