Besiktas knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League on Thursday.
The Turkish giants got the better of the Reds on penalties to progress to the last 16 of the competition.
Liverpool had won the first leg of the round-of-32 tie 1-0 at Anfield last week and were favourites to march on.
However, Besiktas levelled the tie 1-1 on aggregate by winning the second leg 1-0 after 90 minutes in Istanbul on Thursday.
The 30-minute extra-time period saw no goals scored, and a penalty shootout ensued, which Besiktas won 5-4.
Demba Ba played a key role in Besiktas's progress to the last 16 of the Europa League and was unlucky not to score on Thursday.
The 29-year-old former West Ham United and Newcastle United striker rattled the Liverpool crossbar late in normal time.
The final result, though, delighted Senegal international Ba, who took to social media to revel in Besiktas’s triumph over Liverpool.
Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti, who played for Besiktas in 2010-11, also took to Twitter to express his delight.
