Some Celtic supporters are hoping James Forrest has played his last game for the club after his poor showing against Inter Milan last night.
Celtic supporters were left frustrated with James Forrest after his introduction to their match with Inter Milan failed to produce the desired impact.
Forrest was brought off the substitutes' bench to replace John Guidetti just before the hour mark, but he struggled to get involved up-front.
The 24-year-old appeared lost leading the line and most Celtic supporters were left questioning why he was thrown on by Ronny Deila.
Forrest has spent most his career playing on the wing and it seemed strange to utilise him up top with the Bhoys chasing a goal.
Although Forrest offers a direct threat, his end product can often frustrate and there was a feeling that Guidetti was more likely to score, even if he hadn't been particularly inspiring during the match up to that point.
Forrest has been promising to be a major star with the Bhoys for some time, but injuries have blighted his career and there are fears that he will never fulfil his potential.
His attitude has done him no favours, either, with many Celtic fans disappointed with his lack of effort against Inter last night.
Here is the best reaction from Celtic supporters on social media site Twitter to Forrest's performance at the San Siro.
Thought the bhoys where tremendous last night. GMS unlucky to get taken off. GMS is the player James Forrest always promised to be— Stevie Ocallaghan (@housewifeschamp) February 27, 2015
*Disclaimer* See if I see James Forrest stand whining, with arms outstretched, one more time, I won't be held responsible for my actions.— Davie McLaughlin (@firstglass1888) February 27, 2015
Pains me to say it as James Forrest was a player who excited fans but have no idea what has happened to him, hope he finds form again soon— shando (@Jinky1967John) February 26, 2015
I really struggle with james Forrest's lack of work rate! So frustrating!— Red Adair (@michael_adair) February 26, 2015
James Forrest is shocking. It's bad when lads born in Norway and Israel show more passion and desire than a lad born in breed in Glasgow.— Bigirishmc (@Bigirishcelt) February 26, 2015
James Forrest will still be on the pitch the now struggling to dribble by the groundsmen— Cameron Bruce (@cammybhoy7) February 26, 2015
I've always tried to defend James Forrest, saying injuries are holding him back. He should never get another game for Celtic.— Marc Donnelly (@donnelly1888) February 26, 2015
From a Celtic point of view only negative tonight is James Forrest. So far off the pace it's frightening. Looks slow, lethargic and immobile— Pete Robertson (@peterobcelt) February 26, 2015
Stefan Johansen and James Forrest. Compare and contrast. Absolute desire V Childish tantrums. Times up, IMO.— Tony (@macaroni1888) February 26, 2015
