Nottingham Forest have transformed into one of the Championship’s form teams under Dougie Freedman’s guidance, and his side travel to Reading on the weekend instilled with the confidence of a five-match unbeaten run.

Having replaced Stuart Pearce at the helm earlier this month, Freedman has since helped earn Forest 13 points out of a possible 15, with the club now sitting in ninth-place in the table with 13 fixtures remaining.

Their previous inconsistencies mean 12 points still separate them from sixth-place Watford but, despite their faint promotion hopes, a win at the Madjeski Stadium would serve to put some much-needed pressure on those above them.

Sitting seven points below them in 15th are Steven Clarke's side, who themselves have suffered from erratic form since the Scot succeeded Nigel Adkins in mid-December.

Tuesday night’s disappointing 3-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town underlined those issues, and Saturday's line-up is now more than likely to contain at least a couple of changes, with both Hal Robson-Kanu and Nathaniel Chalobah pushing for recalls.

Forest 53 15.03 11% 48 13.18 6 4 9 33

Looking at the two teams, there isn't much too choose between them on the defensive side, but it's clear that Forest's have the edge in the attacking third, firing off more shots per game and finishing off more of their chances to contribute towards a 17-goal swing.

Fresh off a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win over promotion-chasing Bournemouth, Freedman's men look like a decent bet to continue their fine run of form, but they'll have to get past former Reds Chalobah, Simon Cox, Chris Gunter and Garath McClearly, who could all be in the opposition line-up on the afternoon.
