The 19-year-old trained with the first team once again on Thursday afternoon.
The teenage winger returned to first-team training last week but did not play a part in Newcastle's 5-0 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.
Boss John Carver obviously felt it was too soon to rush the 19-year-old back to action after his return from a medium-term injury, or perhaps felt he wasn't needed (he certainly couldn't have reversed the scoreline all by himself!).
Aarons, though, appears to have come through last week's training unscathed and was in practice with the Magpies again this time around.
Could he, then, be in line to play against Aston Villa this weekend?
Newcastle head coach Carver has been at pains to suggest his side's season won't peter out so why not restore an exciting 19-year-old talent to his startling line-up?
It may, of course, be too soon for Aarons still - especially when it comes to starting - but his presence on the training ground will once again provide a reassuring sight for Newcastle fans.
