Nani has good news for United if they want William Carvalho

Nani has been speaking about the possibility of Manchester United signing his current Sporting Lisbon teammate.

Manchester United winger Nani has been speaking to the Daily Mail about his current teammate at loan club Sporting Lisbon, William Carvalho.

The Portuguese midfielder was once regularly linked with a potential move to Old Trafford, and while the rumours have since died down, Nani believes the 22-year-old would be interested in a move to Manchester.

In the interview, Nani said of William, “He is a great player. He has a lot of quality.

“I think at the end of this season he will be prepared to play in the Premier League. I think if Manchester United are interested it’s a good chance.”

William burst onto the scene last season and earned a place in Portugal’s World Cup squad following a string of brilliant performances for Sporting.

A defensive midfielder who is extremely difficult to pass but who also has an eye for goal, William has now made 63 appearances for Sporting.

United’s midfield still requires plenty of work, with a defensive midfielder surely a priority this summer. And while he remains young, William’s emergence marks him out as a viable candidate.

The big question is: If William does arrive at United, will Nani be playing alongside him next season or could he move on permanently himself?
