Fazio is quoted by the Tottenham website, saying: “I think we are a very strong team away from home. We’ve demonstrated in the league that we’re a strong side on the road, but we will need to start well in Florence like we did last week.
“We need to really be focused on our objective of winning – I’m positive that we can get the result we need.”
Erik Lamela was asked if it was hard not to look beyond the European tie with a League Cup final against Chelsea taking place just three days later, but he told reporters that tonight's tie is at the forefront of the players' minds.
He said: "That's another game, of course, a very important game but first we have to focus on Fiorentina. That's our only focus now.
"I think we're doing well, we have the skill to do well, we're improving and we'll try to keep improving."
Though the theme of the interview suggests he would like to manage in the Premier League one day, he seems very focused on being the man in charge of the side that makes it through to the last-16 of the Europa League.
He said: “I’m wary of all Tottenham’s players — their starters, their substitutes. They are a complete team, who know how to play in the typical English style, changing quickly from defence to attack and back again, as well as a more possession-based ‘Spanish’ fashion.
“We are ready for a difficult game but also an exciting one. If we play to our potential, we have a chance.”
