Deila on Commons
Celtic manager Ronny Deila says that he is considering starting Kris Commons against Inter Milan tonight.
Commons was not in the Bhoys' squad during the first leg tie, but he could be handed a role from the start in Italy, with Deila's men looking to cause an upset.
“Kris is one we think about for starting," Deila admitted to the Daily Record. “He pushed himself last weekend and we know what he can do but we need 16 or 18 players and 14 of them will play."
Celtic newboy Gary Mackay-Steven insists that his team are not travelling to the San Siro to make up the numbers.
The Scottish champions go into their game against Inter as outsiders, but Mackay-Steven is adamant they can get a result.
"It is an iconic stadium and Inter Milan are a massive club but so are Celtic," Mackay-Steven told STV.
"We are not here to be tourists but to do a job and that is to get a result."
Deila on van Dijk
Ronny Deila believes that Virgil van Dijk could be be a top player in the Europa League, as long as he relaxes and plays his natural game.
Deila is determined to ensure that the Bhoys do not suffer with nerves ahead of their second leg tie with Inter Milan and he says that they need to be calm, despite the magnitude of the fixture.
“Virgil van Dijk is more than good enough to be a top player at this level," he said to the Daily Record. "It is just a matter of relaxing and doing the same things he does in Scotland."
