Alan Stubbs questions Celtic's chances against Inter Milan

Celtic Champions League 2]

Former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs has questioned whether Celtic will be able to get the better of Inter Milan later.

Former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show for talkSPORT that it will be difficult for his old club to get the better of Inter Milan in the Europa League.

Celtic and Inter are level at 3-3 heading into the second leg of their tie later today and Stubbs has stressed the difficulty of the challenge which lies in front of the Bhoys.

“Look, they conceded three goals against Inter Milan in the first leg – can they really go and win 1-0? It’s going to be difficult,” said Stubbs.

Celtic are going to be up against it this evening and not just because they conceded three away goals in the first game between the clubs.

They’re the away side and it could be difficult for them to deal with the onslaught thrown at them by the Inter Milan attack over the course of the game.

The home crowd will make things difficult and will more than likely inspire Roberto Mancini’s team to get on the front foot and stay there.

Celtic need to stay disciplined, defend well and then make the most of any good half chances which fall their way.

They have to tighten up defensively because if Inter score the first goal, it makes Celtic’s task even more difficult because of the away goal advantage they have.

They need to put the pressure on Inter and create nerves in the home side, which could force mistakes and allow Celtic to follow through on a big performance and leave any doubters questioning why they thought the Bhoys might not get a result.
