Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were again left impressed with the former Arsenal striker's showing in the 3-0 home win over Fulham.
Striker Benik Afobe may not have got on the scoresheet for Wolverhampton Wanderers in Tuesday night’s 3-0 win over Fulham, but fans were left more than impressed with his impact at Molineaux.
Skipper Danny Batth headed the home side ahead in the 10th-minute from a well-taken Bakary Sako corner, before the winger sealed the result in the space of seven minutes prior to the break with two goals himself.
Afobe was just as crucial to the three points, however, proving a constant handful for the Fulham defence with his pace, strength and work-rate before going off with nine minutes to go to a rousing reception.
With five goals in eight games since signing from Arsenal last month, the England Under-21 international’s arrival has been fundamental to keeping the club in the promotion race, with Kenny Jackett’s eighth-place side now just five points outside a play-off spot with 13 games left of the Championship season.
The former Gunners trainee revealed earlier this week that he had turned down 17 teams during the transfer window in order to sign for Wolves, and the club’s Twitter-based supporters are no doubt thankful for that decision judging from the reaction to his latest outing.
