Rangers and Nottingham Forest fans react to speculation over Dougie Freedman's future

Nottingham Forest and Rangers fans reacted to speculation surrounding Dougie Freedman's future.

Speculation in the Scottish Sun on Tuesday night suggested that Rangers were interested in hiring Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman as their new manager this summer.

Freedman, who was sacked by Bolton Wanderers back in October, recently took charge of Nottingham Forest - one of Freedman's former clubs as a player.

Yet amid speculation that his contract at the City Ground only runs until the end of the season with a view to extending it long-term, the Scottish Sun believe that Rangers are interested in taking the Glaswegian back up to Scotland.

Rangers saw Ally McCoist quit his post as manager in January, and his replacement Kenny McDowall also resigned just weeks later, though he will serve a 12-month notice period with the beleaguered Gers.

The Ibrox club could well look to bring a new manager this summer, and Freedman appears to be the frontrunner at this stage if the Scottish Sun are to be believed.

The speculation has struck a chord with both sets of fans, with Forest supporters somewhat concerned about the prospect of losing Freedman having won four of the five games he's taken charge of, where they've scored 16 goals.

Rangers fans were generally pleased to hear that Freedman was an alleged target, suggesting that he would be a good appointment if they could lure him North of the border.

Here are reactions from both sets of fans to the recent speculation surrounding Freedman's future...
