Power Rangers short brings the kids show to an adult audience

Power Rangers Adi Shankar short film 1

Guns, violence, swearing and a blue filter - this is Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for the older fans.

If like me you were a kid that grew up on Power Rangers, this short adult version of the show - POWER/RANGERS - will no doubt bring back a nostalgic hit of memories from your youth, and show you that a grittier version of the show could actually work.

This short fan film was directed by Joseph Kahn (Torque) and produced by Adi Shankar (Dredd). It's a re-imagining of the kids TV show which includes plenty of swearing, blood, and violence.

James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek) stars alongside Katie Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), with Van Der Beek playing a traitor of the rangers while Sackhoff takes on the role of the Pink Ranger, Kimberly.

On paper this take on the Rangers doesn't seem all too appealing, but after watching the 12-minute short I kinda want to see more. Check it out below!
