Tottenham Hotspur compete in two massive matches over the coming week.
Mauricio Pochettino says that he is having a problem picking Tottenham Hotspur's squad for their game against Fiorentina on Thursday night.
Tottenham take on La Viola in Italy with the scores locked at 1-1 on aggregate, meaning they have to score and avoid defeat to quality for the next round of the Europa League.
That looks a tough task, but it is made even harder by the fact that Spurs have a Capital One Cup final match with Chelsea on the horizon.
Spurs face the Blues on Sunday at Wembley, but Pochettino insists that match is not part of anyone's thinking at this moment in time.
Mauricio: "Fiorentina play in a similar way to us. The priority is the game tomorrow night. The problem for me is picking the squad!"— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) February 25, 2015
Mauricio: "We're fully focused on tomorrow. This is the most important game for us at the moment. We're focused on this, not the cup final."— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) February 25, 2015
Despite Pochettino's apparent desire to select a quality side it would still be a surprise if he named his strongest line-up against Fiorentina.
Spurs are unlikely to risk fatiguing their more prominent stars ahead of the domestic cup final and they will be relying on some of their fringe players to raise their game if they are to make it past the Serie A side.
In terms of names, Pochettino was giving no clues as to who would start at his press conference this afternoon and it would seem that he still has to make his mind up on a few selection choices, after he admitted how problematic creating a team had been.
