Could Hollywood star Russell Crowe really consider Leeds United?
Hollywood actor Russell Crowe has set discussion among Leeds United fans abuzz after engaging in a discussion on Twitter about buying the club.
Leeds are currently in a state of limbo after Massimo Cellino's open letter to fans on the club website, stating he will not be returning in April as planned, wishing to challenge the Football League's decision against him as an associated individual.
Crowe asked fans on Twitter if it was a good idea to get involved with the club, which he has supported since he was a youngster.
Leeds are not of course a simple club to take over. They are in debt, do not own their own ground or training ground, and have different controlling interests in the form of Massimo Cellino's Eleonara Sport company and 25 per cent stakeholders GFH.
His 'interest' sparked discussion on our initial story, with reader Asim Siddiq commenting: "Now that would be a hollywood fairytale, he is one of my favourite hollywood stars so that let's hope something could happen. It does help that he's a Leeds fan so let's just watch this space!"
Another reader 'JDC', simply responded: "Does that mean an influx of New Zealand footballers?"
