Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique confirms return to training after knee injury

The Spanish left-back is returning from his recent knee injury.

Liverpool have certainly had some injury problems at full-back this season. Young talent Jon Flanagan, who came to the fore last season, has been out for the entire campaign with a knee problem.

Then there is Jose Enrique.

The Spaniard is a regular in the Liverpool treatment room and has already been out with several different injuries this season.

At the moment it is a knee problem once again for the Spaniard, who has been out of action since the 24th January.

But the player seemed to confirm earlier today that he is on the verge of making it back to the first-team in the coming weeks. He is all set to return to first-team training today, as he confirmed on his official Twitter account this morning:

Enrique is not currently a first-team regular at Liverpool regardless of his injury woes. He has played just nine times for the club this season, just four times in the Premier League. Last term it was the same amount for the former Newcastle United player.

His contract at the club runs until 2016, but do not be surprised if Liverpool cash in on him before that time comes.

For now however his return will welcomed, as extra strength in depth can only help Liverpool with a Premier League and Europa League campaign to think about.
