Former Hammers technical director has praised Tottenham ahead of their Europa League clash with Fiorentina.
Former West Ham sporting director Gianluca Nani has praised both Tottenham and Fiorentina ahead of their upcoming Europa League clash.
Nani, who also had a spell at Watford, was at White Hart Lane to watch the first leg, and spoke ahead of the return fixture to Tuttomercatoweb to give his assessment of the two teams.
He feels the sides are evenly matched but it is Fiorentina who have a slight advantage with the away goal scored in the 1-1 draw.
He said: "I have to congratulate to Fiorentina for the match that they played. On paper Tottenham was favoured, now the purple start with a slight advantage. The two teams are beautiful to watch.
"I was at White Hart Lane, it was a good game between two good teams. I was pleased by the performance of Fiorentina, especially in the second half. Pochettino has a team strong in all departments."
Who are the favourites?
A big factor counting against Spurs is that just days later they have the Capital One Cup final against Chelsea to play, which as much as they will insist otherwise, it will undoubtedly be a distraction.
The two teams both appeared to hold back in the first leg, with Fiorentina happy to get a draw, and Spurs resting key striker Harry Kane.
