The Colombian is number one stopper ahead of Wojciech Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez.
The Colombian has recently become the number one stopper at Arsenal, usurping Polish international Wojciech Szczesny in the pecking order and holding off the challenge of young pretender Emiliano Martinez.
But ahead of tonight's crucial tie Ospina has been speaking to Arsenal.com, about the importance of competition from the other goalkeepers at the club.
He said: “As a team, we do have a strong and healthy competition between myself, Wojciech and Emiliano so that is something that inspires us all to always be there and giving it 100 per cent in training sessions.
“In a team like Arsenal and this level, you need to have very good goalkeepers like you have in all the major football teams. Both goalkeepers really need to be ready to react very well. You need to be that prepared and committed so you can continue to play.”
He is certainly right about the amount of teams now that have this form of competition. Manchester United have David De Gea and Vicor Valdes. Chelsea have Thibaut Courtois and Petr Cech. Bayern Munich have Manuel Neuer and Pepe Reina - the list goes on and on.
Arsenal therefore are certainly doing the right thing pitting the stoppers against each other.
Szczesny has not played a league game for the club since the New Year's Day defeat to Southampton, which was memorable for what he did after the game as well as his poor performance in it.
Since then Ospina has taken the gloves on with aplomb and tonight he will be hoping to continue his good form against a team he won against just twice in seven meetings as a player at Nice.
