A young Tottenham Hotspur forward has impressed against their fierce rivals' under-18 side.
Tottenham Hotspur’s under-18 side had a match to remember this week, as they defeated their Arsenal counterparts 4-1.
The hero of the match was undoubtedly Shayon Harrison, who scored three times including one from the penalty spot.
Harrison is a 17-year-old striker who can also operate on the left wing, and if he wanted to get Mauricio Pochettino’s attention there is no better way than netting a hat-trick against their North London rivals.
Tottenham’s other goal came from Ryan Loft, who continues to impress at this level, but Harrison took the plaudits and it will be interesting to see how this performance affects him for the rest of the campaign.
Harrison has turned out once for Tottenham’s under-21 side, in a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, so he still has some way to go before he will be pushing for a first-team chance at White Hart Lane.
But he will have seen the emergence of Harry Kane, Nabil Bentaleb and the like and know that youth is given a chance at Tottenham when the time is right.
For now it is all about developing at under-18 level, after last season saw him finish with 12 goals for that age group.
